New Owner Views

As a new owner I have big concerns about pest control in my condo, 4103, and an apparent indifference to building codes that require ventilation (exhaust) of bathrooms, stove/microwave hoods and dryers. Instead to denying permission to vent these areas outside we should be asking each unit owner to provide ventilation to each unit. Not doing so is creating an environment for mold and mildew in each unit. When we removed the original wallpaper in our unit this spring we found rampant mold and mildew behind the wall paper in each bath and the kitchen plus smaller areas in each bedroom and the living area. All you have to do to see our exposure is look at the bathroom walls after a nice warm shower or the kitchen while boiling a pot of shrimp which we will smell for three days since we cand vent it outside. We need some wisdom in our direction. Penetrations to the barrier in our buildings can be made safely just as it has been done previously for each outside light fixture and receptacle. Lets open our eyes and not let mold and mildew ruin our health and investments. The pest control guy should use more than water when spraying for bugs. I am having to spray my own unit while the association is pqaying him to do too.
